Hi, I'm Sayuri!
A month after my wedding, my conversations with my husband went from "I love you" to "Did you pay the rent? "Did you check the mail? Can you help with the dishes?"
It was as if we were each other's life-admins instead of romantic partners.
After the long work week, my husband and I were wiped out and we didn’t have the energy or brain power to think of interesting topics to talk about.
So, I took it upon myself to create our own deck of conversation starters (what later became the You & Me Time® Connection Cards) so we wouldn't always default to the "how was work?" conversation.
All of a sudden, our phones were down, the conversations were interesting again, and we actually started to look forward to our time together.

The You & Me Time® Connection Cards were designed to work for you so we don't want you to feel limited or restricted on how to play - while the cards come with a manual on how to maximize your experience, there's no time limit or a certain number of cards you have to go through per seating. The goal is for you to experience your loved ones on more meaningful levels, so don't get hung up on rules or accumulating points - which sometimes distract you from experiencing each other more meaningfully.
Try it and make it into your own little game as you walk your dog, order take-out, or while you go out for ice cream. Feel free to create your own rules while keeping this one rule in mind: tuck away the tech (Apple Watch and AirPods too!). Studies reveal that when we leave a phone on the table, we're less likely to open up and share deeper topics because we don't want to risk being interrupted by a call or text.
The cards can become a part of your date night, while also integrating them into your day to day life - the same way that our phones are such a part of our lives - we bring them everywhere with us, even in our bedroom. The Classic Collection has 39 connection cards and is color-coded into three themes:
Slate Gray- Explore each other's season of life by sharing goals, priorities, and mindset.
Thistle Purple- Explore personal favorites, interests, and life stories.
Midnight Blue- Explore personal growth, self-awareness, and values
There are two ways we recommend you play with this collection:
Option #1
Start out by sorting the cards into 3 piles (one pile to represent each color theme)
Pick one card from each pile
You and your partner both answer the question
If you have more time to play then rinse and repeat. Have your partner take the next set of 3 cards and both answer the new set of questions.
Option #2
Shuffle the deck of cards
Place the deck in between the both of you
Pick a card from the top of the deck and read it out loud so that both of you can answer
Spark connection
Rinse and repeat!
BONUS TIP: Keep the cards you've already asked each other in a mason jar somewhere visible so you can see the deposits of connection you've made into your love tank and keep you motivated to fill it with more!!

You and your partner set the rules for this! It all depends on how much time you have to be together. The only thing we'll say is that if you have about 15 mins or less you want to perhaps only ask each other 3 questions max so that you don't feel rushed and you both have a chance to answer.
Take in the moment, stay present, and listen to each other. One of the questions may lead you to share a story or share something you've never shared before or it may prompt you to ask another follow-up question. Lean into your moment and see where it takes you next. This is what it's all about!
